Tom has been in the Tree Care Industry for the past twenty years, literally starting from the ground up. He attended the College of Lake County majoring in Biological Sciences. One summer he answered an ad in the local paper for a laborer at a nearby tree care company. Officially he entered the tree care industry in 1993 as a ground man for what he thought was just going to be a summer job. After a couple of seasons of being a ground laborer, he moved into a foreman position and became a certified Arborist. Over the course of the next twenty years he has gained expertise in rope and saddle work, rigging, bucket and crane operations. His current interests in the field of arboriculture are disease and pest identification and management.
Outside of work Tom is an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. Being involved in Boy Scouting at a young age his interests range from mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and bow hunting. His current obsession is kayak fishing. Tom is also semi-domesticated; he enjoys entertaining and cooking both indoors and out. His specialty is smoking Texas style brisket and roasting whole hog on an open fire.
